While this jacket is well made, and the fit is very good, it is not designed for the north country.And I know. I live in the North Country. MN to be exact. And when the actual temp is -25F (not including the wind chill) your dog needs something warm. The fleece layer is very thin. If the company tripled it, it might be a better jacket.I will keep it for cool days. However, I suggest the name be changed.I bought this for my lab last Christmas. He wore it for the first time Christmas Day. He used it only on the coldest days. Probably only up to March. Then I put it away. Took it out for the first time this season and after one use, the strap and buckle fell off. The strap had popped out from the stitching on one side. Hardly even used and it already fell apart.Update: 11/22/18: After emailing Kurgo about this issue they immediately contacted me and apologized for this happening and mailed out a replacement coat the same day. This is outstanding customer service. I’ll bump up my rating from 1 to 4 stars for now and see if the replacement lasts long that the first before I give it a full 5 stars. Either way, this company handled it professionally and the right way.My golden retriever spends many hours a days outside. Unlike her son, she has thin fur and not a lot of it. I love the way this fits her, across the chest, around the collar, the length of the back, and the adjustable sides. It's light weight, water/wind resistant, and fleece lined. I look forward to seeing how it holds up. Also, because she's an old girl, we layered it with a different fleece lined coat on top that fits like a blanket and covers different parts. Between the two, I think she'll stay warm!It would be great if there was a reflective strip sewn in. The red light is great but why not just add a strip. Also, the harness access zipper is totally unnecessary. Who uses a harness for a dog?! It's a breech in the coat that will allow wind and water thru. Totally useless.Love this jacket. We measured our dog, a lab/american bull dog mix, 87 pounds. Her neck is 19 inches, chest is 34 inches. according to her measurments she should need a large. When the large jacket arrived, it did fit her but just barely. We returned it for an extra large which fits much better. There is a little extra room, but not much. The quality is good.Runs big not so easy to put onGood coat. Easy to put on my 90 lb lab. I wish it was a bit more snug but it does allow for easy movement. Our dog can play fetch with no constraints.We have 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, They are 31" long so the coat being Very Cute was not long enough even in the largest size.They are very nice coats though!!!!The light stopped working after half a dozen walks. Emailed the seller and got no response. The coat itself is not too bad but does blow up with a tail wind meaning my ridgeback looks like he's wearing a crop top. La luz intermitente para la noche junto con los detalles de tela reflejante son espectaculares. Fácil de poner y quitar, nos gustó mucho. Muy recomendable.
